Marek Krynicki’s Juniors secured a badly needed 2-0 win over St Bernard’s to ease their relegation fears from in the Western Hygiene Supplies Premier Division. On a day when the squad was depleted long time servants, such as, Brian Geraghty, James Whelan, Enda Curran and Kevin Monahan were to the fore in a morale boosting victory which will give them confidence ahead of a difficult end of season run in.

Martin Taylor and Donnacha Martyn’s U15 Division 2 team were the first team in the club to capture silverware as won the league on Saturday away to Tuam Celtic in a tough encounter. Needing just a point to guarantee them the title they managed a stirring 2-1 which meant they finished the season unbeaten and sparked wild celebrations following a terrific effort from all the squad.

Matthew Sutton’s Youth team became the 3rd Salthill Devon team to reach Connacht finals weekend after they defeated Ballinrobe Town in the semi-final in Mayo last weekend. Byron Lydon (2), Fiachra Quinn and Josh Hanny were the goalscorers while stand in goalkeeper, John Quinn, was a star performer along with player of the match, Fionn Murphy. They face a difficult task in the final in Castlebar next month when they take on Sligo’s Strand Celtic in the decider.

Mark Brady and Bodgan Matei’s U16s Premier team consolidated their position at the top of the league following a comprehensive 5-0 victory at home to Moyne Villa on Sunday.

Donnacha Martyn and Martin Taylor’s U14 Premier team returned to winning ways following defeat to Mervue Utd courtesy of a 2-0 win away to Colga.

James Whelan, Enda Cullen and Shane O Grady’s U14 Division 1 team were back to winning ways  in Drom on Saturday  with 2 goals in the first half coming from Daniel Sheriff and Piotrick Syzmanski giving the home side a much deserved lead .Some  excellent passages of play in the second half  led to a third goal which was  impressively converted  by Marco Mitchell giving the home side a much deserved 3-1 home win. 

 

In the U12s John Nolan’s premier team were held to a scoreless draw at Cregmore/Claregalway and Mike Murphy’s Division 1 team suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Maree/Oranmore while Conor Byrne and Bogdan Matei’s U12 Division 2 team scored an impressive win away to Craughwell Utd to maintain their position at the top of the table. Quality goals from James Morahan (2), David Kilraine and Tommy Lillis and a strong team performance leaves the boys in pole position ahead of the final 3rd of the season. Brian O Donnell’s division 5 team were also victorious in Craughwell on a 2-1 scoreline which moves them into the top half of the league table.

Pat Lawless’s U16 girls were 2-0 winners away to Colga in the league while the U14 girls were emphatic winners over a depleted Corrib Rangers as they advanced with ease in the quarter final of the Galway Cup.

Shane Fitzgerald’s U12 Girls had another great week and stay unbeaten taking 3 points from Moyne Villa on Wednesday. On Sunday they had a great away win to Corrib Rangers. Aoife Nash opened the scoring with a super goal and Emily Fitzgerald finished with 3 excellent goals in yet another superb team performance.  Steve Stone’s U12 Division 1 girls were 2-0 winners over Kiltullagh in Drom.
