Salthill Devons U12B Girls Team togged out at Eamon Deacy Park this afternoon for the GFA Girls U12 Division 1 Cup Final in very windy conditions against league leaders Colemanstown United.

First half playing into the weather saw 2 great shots just wide of goal from striker Allie Trayers Sheehan and along with a supporting midfield of Clara Glynn, Madeline Hardy, Amber O'Leary , Maria Jeahams and Amy Lewis kept the pressure up and opposition tied down. Goalkeeper Dariana Todosi made a number of outstanding saves to keep the sheet clean to a 0 - 0 at half time.

Second half started and the girls full of confidence as they all again brought the game to Colemanstown. Defensive shape was diciplined and held as Ava Costello , Ellen Holland, Aoibhin Leonard and Saoirse Burke frustrated the attacking play. First goal to Salthill came from a great dribbling run by Ana Conway as she weaved her way through the midfield. Within 10 mins Clara Glynn added a second - right place , right time without hesitation. 2-0 up and the team closed ranks to ensure the clubs first Cup of the season.
