This Sunday Drom Soccer Park will host the SFAI National Cup Round of 16 tie between Salthill Devon and Abbeyleix from County Laois. Mark Brady’s talented squad fly the flag for the Galway FA and indeed the Connacht region as they bid to reach the quarter final of the prestigious competition. This team has evolved steadily under the guidance of various club coaches and managers, however, with Dubliner Brady at the helm they have really become a force to be reckoned with at local and national level. The club would hope that members and supporters will swell the crowd to ensure they take full advantage of the home draw and support Mark and his squad as they enter the business end of the season. Kick-off 2:00pm.

Among the other games this weekend Marek Krynicki and Posh Fadden’s Junior Premier League team and due to return to action after a lengthy period without a game as they are scheduled to play high flying Mervue Utd in the league. They will hope to secure a much needed win to provide the impetus and kick-start the remainder of their season.

All the U12 teams are in league action where the long awaited clash of Conor Byrne’s Division 2 team faces a strong Loughrea Rams team. Both teams are unbeaten to date and are well ahead of the chasing pack so Devon will hope to put in a big performance against their older and more physical opponents.

Elsewhere the U14 Division 1 team will look to replicate the heroics of their most recent performance and provide back to back wins for the first time as they host Tuam Celtic on Saturday while the U16 Girls will hope that their return fixture v Killtulagh will go ahead on this occasion. Elsewhere the U18 Division 1 boys team host Athenry in the Galway Cup while Nigel Diskin’s U16 Championship team are away to Corrib Celtic and Steve Stone’s U12 Division 1 girls team are away to Bearna in another busy weekend in Drom.

The academy training continues over the weekend for 5 to 11 year olds. For further details contact Drom on 091 861862.
