Salthill Devon Football Club are delighted to announce that former player, manager and Director of Football, John ‘Jumbo’ Brennan has returned to his hometown club for the season ahead. Former League of Ireland legend Brennan will oversee the development of players and coaches from U12s up to and including U15s.

Not only has John had a distinguished playing career with Salthill Devon, Galway United, Sligo Rovers, Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk FC he also has a wealth of coaching experience on his CV and has obtained A, B and Pro coaching licenses from UEFA. He has served as manager of Salthill Devon FC and the NUIG Collingwood Cup team, and was also a head coach for the FAI Summer Soccer Schools, a caretaker manager of Galway United in 2011 and more recently manager of Westport United.

John also as accreditation from the English FA in the area of ‘planning, preparing and evaluating training sessions’ and also has player and match analysis, coaching children and as a sports injury therapist. He has also held many other management and coaching roles, in several decades spent immersed in soccer.

Conor Byrne, continues to oversee the Academy the development of the academy teams and players from as young as 5 years old.
